God Can Do Anything

And without Him we can do nothing.

Luke 1:37: For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Matthew 19:26: But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mark 10:25-27: It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Philippians 4:11-13: Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. 12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me does not mean that I can do all of the things that I want. It means I can do all of the things that God wants me to do.

1 John 5:14: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Jesus can save us. We cannot do that for ourselves or for anyone else.

Luke 19:10: For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Jesus can make us children of God. We do not have power to do that for ourselves or for others.

John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

God can make us into new creatures doing new things. We cannot do that for ourselves or for others.

2 Corinthians 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

He can give us eternal life. We cannot do that for ourselves or for others.

John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

He can forgive our sins. We cannot do that for ourselves or for others.

Mark 2:7: Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

The Jews knew that God alone can forgive sins. What they got wrong was that they did not know and believe that Jesus was God. He can purify our hearts. We cannot do that for ourselves or others.

Acts 15:7-9: And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Job 14:4: Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.

God can give us joy. We cannot do that for ourselves or others.

Psalms 51:12: Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

The list of things that God can do that we cannot is endless. We need Him for everything.

John 15:5b: . . . without me ye can do nothing.
